DUTIES
OF THE PRESIDENT
"The President is to open the meeting at the time at which the assembly
is scheduled to meet, by taking the chair and calling the members to
order; to announce the business before the assembly in order in which
it is to be acted upon; to recognize members entitled to the floor; to
state and to put to vote all questions which are regularly moved, or
arise in the course of the proceedings, and to announce the results of
the vote; to protect the assembly from annoyance from evidently
frivolous motions by refusing to recognize them; to authenticate, by
his signature, when necessary, all the acts, orders, and proceedings of
the assembly. In case of serious disorder, or other emergency, the
chair has the right to declare the assembly adjourned to some other
time, and place if necessary."
"Additional presidential duties include: take charge of membership
recruiting programs, schedule amateur radio classes, assist the VE
liaison to schedule test sessions for new and upgrading amateurs."

DUTIES OF VICE PRESIDENT
"In the case of the absence of the President, the Vice-president must
preside, performing all duties of the President. In case of prolonged
illness, or resignation, or death of the President, the Vice-president
becomes President for the unexpired term of the President."
"Additional Vice-presidential duties include: the chairman of the
Financial Committee, special events coordinator (Field Day, SET, etc.), schedule net control operators for the weekly nets and be in charge of operation and maintence of the
club repeater""

DUTIES OF THE SECRETARY
"The secretary is the recording officer of the assembly and the
custodian of it's records except such are specifically assigned to
others, such as the Treasurer's books. It is the duty of the Secretary
to keep a regular roll of the members and to call the roll when
required. It is his/her duty to send out proper notice of all meetings.
In the absence of the President and the Vice-president, when the hour
for opening the meeting arrives, it is his/her duty to call the meeting
to order, and to preside until the election of the President pro-tem,
which should take place immediately, before any further business is
conducted. The Secretary should keep a record of the proceedings,
stating what was said, and never making criticisms, favorable or
otherwise, of anything said or done. This record is usually referred to
as the minutes."

DUTIES OF THE TREASURER
"The Treasurer acts as the club's banker, merely holding the funds
deposited with him/her and paying them out in the order of the club
signed by the President and the Secretary. He/She is required to make
reports at the scheduled business meetings of the club."

"The News Editor creates and distributes the club news letter to all active members of the club. He/She is may be asked to make reports at the scheduled business meetings of the club."

WEBMASTER N8ERC Gordon Duncan

DUTIES OF THE WEBMASTER
"The Webmaster maintains the clubs internet services. This consists of maintaining the GARCOHIO web site, email and postmaster services, message groups, domain registration and other internet related services. He/She is appointed by the President. Duties include: assist scheduling net control operators for the weekly nets, assist in keeping the Net Control paperwork (call-up procedure and net reports) for the current year, and may be asked to make reports at scheduled business meetings of the club."

"The
officers, President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, will
serve a term of one year. No office will be filled by the same
individual for more than three years in a row. Elections will be held
at the December meeting and the office term will be from January 1 to
December 31. Elections will be by secret ballot."
Any officer missing three consecutive meetings will be subject to
removal by the board at the next regular meeting."

"Candidates for
office and all who expect to vote for those candidates must be full
members in good standing; their dues must be paid by the last day of
February of the current year; and they must hold a valid amateur radio
license."
"Nominations for all officers will be made at the October meeting. All
members who are at the October meeting, and who are eligible can make
nominations and are eligible for nomination. The nominations will be
tabulated at the October meeting."
